Geoff Bailey, a Republican candidate for Texas House District 102, has repeatedly urged Stefani Carter to take a stand and debate. Carter has refused to debate and does not believe it is necessary for the people of North Texas to hear where she stands before they cast their vote. Bailey released the following statement:

“Several attempts have been made to urge Stefani Carter to share her positions with the people of our district. I have personally called Stefani on two occasions asking her to debate, and I was stonewalled both times. “

“I have been in this race for several months now, and I am still not able to tell you where Ms. Carter stands on the important issues facing Texas. I know she often talks about “’common sense solutions,’” but I have yet to determine what that means.”

“I think it’s unfortunate that Ms. Carter won’t give the people of the 102nd the opportunity to hear her views. If her opponent doesn’t know where she stands, how can the people of our district?”

“North Texas is faced with unprecedented challenges. Families and small businesses in our district are struggling with the worst economy since the Great Depression. Texans are seeing their health care premiums soar out of control and their energy costs continue to skyrocket. Drug violence that has torn Mexico apart has crept over the border into our state. Our border is broken, and illegal immigration puts our citizens at risk.”

“I am proud that I am the candidate in this race with concrete plans to deal with the tough challenges facing our district. I bring a Fresh Start for the people of North Texas.”
