Geoff is a proud conservative who believes in small government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility. He understands the needs and obstacles facing North Texas. Geoff is a man who is grounded by faith, motivated by a belief in public service and determined to get things done. He has fresh ideas to bring a fresh start to Austin and the bold vision to get real results.

Born in Houston, Geoff grew up all over North Texas – from Plano and Wylie to McKinney and Dallas. Geoff understands the faith and community values that make North Texas unlike any place else. After graduating from the Honors program at Collin County, Geoff went west to UCLA. There, he got his first taste of politics as a field director for a local congressional campaign and graduated with a degree in Political Science.

At the White House, Geoff worked in Vice President Dick Cheney’s office. He saw first-hand how good government can make a positive impact in people’s lives. Geoff’s service at the White House only reinforced a core conviction in his life: that we all have a duty to serve something greater than ourselves.

After leaving the White House, Geoff went to work for Rudy Giuliani in his campaign for the Presidency. The heart of the Giuliani campaign focused on keeping America safe, our tax burden low, and reforming health care to make it more portable and affordable for every American. As a result, Geoff came away with an invaluable experience and a greater appreciation for conservative principles.

Geoff then took another step in his commitment to public service. Given the opportunity to work hands-on with one of the transcendental problems of our generation, Geoff joined T. Boone Pickens to end our country’s dependence on foreign oil. At the Pickens Plan, Geoff helped one of Texas’ most famous oilmen to convince Congress of the economic and environmental benefits of alternative energy. Geoff became convinced that Texas is blessed with resources that can both alleviate our energy crisis and provide tens of thousands of new high paying green jobs for Texas workers.

Geoff’s top priorities include lowering our tax burden to get our economy growing again, public safety, making sure our schools prepare our kids to compete in a 21st Century global economy, bringing practical solutions to the mounting crisis in North Texas transportation and infrastructure and ending Texan’s dependence on foreign oil. But overall, Geoff is determined to bring Accountability and Efficiency to Austin.

As a leader in the community, Geoff understands the values and struggles of North Texas families. Healthy communities also meet the spiritual needs of the people who live there. Geoff’s faith is what made him the man he is today. Geoff attends Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.

Geoff believes that Texans know better than to be taken in by folks who are “all hat, no cattle.” He believes that the people of the 102nd will not only respond to his fresh ideas but recognize his eagerness to serve and his willingness to learn and bring people together to get things done.
