You Can Make a Difference

You Can Make a Difference

The recent quake in Haiti has brought death and devastation on an unprecedented scale. The images of human suffering have left us in quiet disbelief and made our hearts ache for those affected by this horrific disaster. In times like these, I want to put aside partisan politics and ask you to help. The people of Haiti are hurting, and, as Texans, it’s our duty to answer the call.

Right now, you can help the people of Haiti. What international relief organizations need, now more than ever, is your financial help. By donating to The International Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders or by texting “HAITI” to 90999 you can do your part to bring aid to those in need.

As Americans, we have been incredibly blessed as a nation. While the rest of the world shrinks from obligation, and others close themselves off from duty, we stand determined to do what we can to end the suffering.

The United States of America is the greatest force for good mankind has ever known.

Let’s prove it once again.

Sincerely,

Geoff Bailey

Merry Christmas

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Christmas time is my absolute favorite time of year. From decorations and presents, to caroling and Christmas gatherings, the season is full of laughter and excitement.

This holiday season, I hope you will keep our brave men and women in uniform in your prayers. Serving in our nation’s military is never easy, and being away from home during the holidays can be especially trying. Our service men and women, and their families, sacrifice so much and we want them to know how much we truly appreciate them this Christmas.

Also this week, I filed for the March 2nd Republican primary. Families in our community are struggling, and this election is about who has the best ideas to lead our district into the future. Our campaign has more to offer the people of the 102nd than empty conservative rhetoric. We are going to win this primary because ours is the campaign of ideas.

This Christmas we have so much to be thankful for, and I hope you will take time to reflect on all of your many blessings. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year.

Happy Holidays,

Geoff Bailey

P.S. On December 31st, I have an end of the year finance report. Will you donate $25, $50 or $100 to help me finish the year strong?

Moving Texas Forward

A Fresh Start for North Texas

A Fresh Start for North Texas

Families in North Texas are struggling with the worst economy since the Great Depression. Sky rocketing
health care premiums, congested highways, rising energy costs and a real unemployment rate of 17.5% have hit our community like a tidal wave.

This election is about more than political rhetoric, people’s livelihoods are at stake. From creating new jobs and getting our economy growing again, to ensuring our children have the tools to compete in a 21st century global marketplace and ending North Texas’ dependence on foreign oil, our campaign has consistently won the battle of ideas.

Now, I need your help! Your donation of $10, $25, $50 or $100 will help me continue to champion my ideas for a safer, more prosperous Texas.

The filing deadline is fast approaching, the race for District 102 is heating up and I have drawn a challenger. As I travel around the community, I am eager to understand what people are really going through. People in North Texas don’t want to hear campaign slogans or empty conservative rhetoric, they want to hear how you plan on making their lives better. I am the only candidate that has articulated those ideas.

One of the reasons Ronald Reagan was so successful as “The Great Communicator,” was because he not only articulated his conservative values and principles, but translated those ideals into good policy that made a positive impact in people’s lives. The Republican Party is the party of ideas, and, with your help, I look forward to sharing those ideas with North Texans.

I understand that people in Dallas County are looking for more than empty rhetoric, they want results. Ideas matter, and we have already demonstrated that we are the campaign of ideas. With your help, we can prove to North Texas that we are ready, willing and able to turn those ideas into results.

Together we will bring a fresh start to District 102.

Sincerely,

Geoff Bailey

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

As we gather together with the ones we love, we take time to reflect on all the blessings in our lives. Even during these tough economic times, we have so much to be thankful for. We live in a wonderful community, in the greatest state, in the best country in the world.

So often, we take for granted basic freedoms and liberties others throughout the world can only dream of. Today, we take time to give thanks for the men and women in uniform who fight to keep our country safe. This Thanksgiving, please keep the members of our armed forces in your prayers. It is their selfless sacrifice that allows us the ability to freely celebrate together.

I’m so grateful for the kind words of encouragement and the tremendous level of support friends like you have shown me this year as I have launched my campaign. Together, I know we can move our district forward, bring in new jobs and create a better, more prosperous Texas. For the tremendous opportunity to campaign to represent you and your family in Austin, I offer my sincere thanks.

It is my hope that this Thanksgiving you will enjoy fellowship with friends and family and have time to slow down enough to appreciate the things that matter most.

I wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Geoff Bailey

A Special Message From Ebby Halliday Acers

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Please join me in supporting my friend, Geoff Bailey, in his campaign for the House District 102 seat in the
Texas House of Representatives.

A native-Texan, Geoff is a conservative who believes in small government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility. The worst economy since the Great Depression has hit our community hard and as a leader in the community, Geoff understands the values and struggles of families here in North Texas.

Geoff had the opportunity to work at the White House for Vice President Dick Cheney where he saw first-hand how good government can make a positive impact in people’s lives. From that experience, Geoff took with him a greater appreciation for conservative principles.

Geoff returned home to Texas to work on one of the biggest challenges of this generation – reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil. Geoff joined T. Boone Pickens to help convince Congress and Americans of the economic and environmental benefits of alternative energy. Geoff is still working for the Pickens Plan and believes Texas is blessed with resources, like wind and natural gas, that can alleviate our energy crisis and provide tens of thousands of new green jobs for Texas workers.

In addition to ending Texan’s dependence on foreign oil, Geoff’s top priorities include lowering our tax burden to get our economy growing again and making sure our schools prepare our children for this century’s global economy. Geoff will also focus on bringing practical solutions to the mounting crisis in North Texas transportation and infrastructure. Most importantly, Geoff is committed to bringing his fresh ideas to Austin to ensure accountability and improve efficiency at our State Capital.

With redistricting upon us, it is critical that Republicans keep control in Austin. The party that controls the State House will draw the political lines that govern Texas for the next decade. Our conservative values and principles are at stake.

In order to run a successful campaign, Geoff needs your support. A contribution at any level will make a huge difference in this campaign. I truly appreciate you taking time to consider this important request. With your help, Geoff Bailey will bring his bold vision and fresh, conservative leadership to Austin.

Sincerely,

Ebby Halliday Acers

Geoff Bailey Calls on Texans to Support Fiscally Responsible Health Care Reform

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Dallas, TX, November 9, 2009 – Geoff Bailey, a Republican candidate for House District 102, called on the people of House District 102 to support fiscally responsible health care reform by rejecting the public option. He released the following statement:

“If the people of the 102 care about creating jobs and getting our economy growing again, they will reject the President’s health care plan. The vote that took place this weekend in the House was a travesty. The health care bill written by Nancy Pelosi introduces over a trillion dollars in new government spending and puts bureaucrats firmly in control of our health care decisions. This bill has more to do with scoring partisan political points then repairing our health care system.”

“The public option will destroy choice and competition in our health care system, the bedrock of our free market. The President’s health care plan is fiscally irresponsible and does nothing to improve the quality of care for the people of Texas.”

“There is no question that our health care system is broken. However, the fiscally responsible way to control health care costs is not to nationalize the system and saddle tax payers with unsustainable debt. We need to control sky-rocketing costs by allowing Texans to own their own health care. Tort reform and allowing consumers to purchase individual policies across state lines will make insurance more affordable and portable for every Texan.”

“The President’s health care plan is bad for tax payers, bad for quality of care and it’s bad for the families of our district. I hope the people of House District 102 will join me in rejecting President Obama’s plan to nationalize our health care, and urge Congress to work toward meaningful reform.”

What do you think health care reform should look like? Let me know, I want to hear from you!
